Pons i Domínguez, Antoni

Barcelona 1884 - 1978

1 Architect

Having graduated in Barcelona in 1905, in 1919 he became municipal architect of Vilafranca del Penedès.

He was put in charge of renovating the Ca l'Estalella farmhouse (Carretera de la Múnia als Monjos, Barri de les Casetes, 1909-1910, Castellví de la Marca, Alt Penedès), a building originally put up in the Middle Ages which he refurbished making use of the Modernista idiom related to Neo-Medievalism, employing open brickwork, glazed ceramics and wrought iron.

He was also responsible for Can Raspall dels Horts (Carretera de Vilafranca a Igualada, Vilafranca del Penedès, 1909), a 17th century building which he renovated applying the Modernista aesthetic to both the conception of the interior space and the physiognomy and form of the exterior.
